Psycho-social Rehabilitation Coordinator-Friendship House-Hancock County

Gulf Coast Mental Health Center has an opening for a Full Time Psycho-social Rehabilitation Coordinator at Friendship House in Hancock County.

 

Duties for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Assume responsibility for management of the PSR Program, including adherence to program policies, procedures, and program rules
  • Plan and execute weekly schedule of activities for clients
  • Supervise staff of employees
  • Complete paperwork for agency and state requirements
  • Maintain client records
  • Schedule program admissions interviews

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Mental Health Related field or recreational therapy
  • Ability to obtain a class D license within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to pass a background check as required by state law

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Gulf Coast Mental Health Center has openings for 2 Full Time PMHNP’s.  These positions can be located in any of the three counties that GCMHC serves (Harrison, Hancock, and Stone).

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provide adult, children, and adolescent psychiatric evaluations
  • Provide psychiatric medication evaluations
  • Provide medication prescriptions appropriate for the treatment of psychiatric illnesses
  • Complete medical records in accordance with GCMHC policies
  • Participate in treatment planning with Mental Health Clinicians

Qualifications:

  • Posses a Master’s of Science in Nursing with an emphasis in psychiatric mental health
  • Posses a current, non restricted, Mississippi state Board of Nursing License
  • Ability to pass a background check as required by state law

MCERT Therapist

Gulf Coast Mental Health Center has an opening for a  Full Time MCERT Therapist in Harrison/Stone Counties.

Duties for these positions include but are not limited to:

  • Cover Crisis Walk-ins in County Offices in Stone and Harrison Counties
  • Provide 24 hour, 7-days a week coverage for after hours crisis calls both via telephone and onsite (as requested)
  • Pre-evaluation screening for involuntary commitments
  • Complete Mental Health Assessments
  • Provide direct services, support, and education to clients including linkage to resources and advocacy within community settings
  • Must complete all required trainings as outlined by the Mississippi Department of Mental Health

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in a Mental Health related field
  • Eligibility for professional licensure
  • Dependable transportation with full insurance coverage (must provide proof of insurance coverage)
  • 1-2 years experience working in crisis intervention
  • Ability to pass a background check as required by state law

Intensive Community Support Services Therapist

Intensive Community Support Services-Mental Health Clinician

GCMHC has an immediate opening for an ICSS Therapist.  The hours for this position are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. This position will be located in the Stone County, MS office.

Duties:

    1. Psychotherapy and evaluations consistent with training.
    2. Consultation/Education services within the scope of clinical expertise.
    3. Provide direct services, support and education to clients including linkage to resources and advocacy within community settings.
    4. Coordinate after-care appointments including therapy, resources and medical clinic.
    5. Track caseload and retention rate of clients being re-admitted to the hospital.
    6. Supervises clinical staff as assigned, including interns.
    7. Maintenance of medical records and all job-related record keeping in accordance with both center policy and DMH standards.

Qualifications:

    1. Minimum of Master’s Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or other mental health related field.
    2. Eligibility for professional licensure.
    3. Relevant internship program as part of training or three years job related experience.
    4. Diagnostic and evaluation skills consistent with training.
    5. Intervention skills on individual, couples, family, and group level.
    6. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
    7. Ability to pass a background check as required by state law

Registered Nurse-Part Time/PRN

There are immediate openings for 4 Part-Time/PRN Registered Nurses at the Crisis Stabilization Unit located in Gulfport, MS.

Duties:

  • Provide nursing assessments for CSU clients.
  • Administer all medications.
  • Obtain samples as ordered.
  • Assist in client orientation and discharge/transfer processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Possess a current, non-restricted, Mississippi State Board of Nursing License for a Registered Nurse.

Psychiatric Technicians-Crisis Stabilization Unit

Immediate openings are available for 4 Part Time (PRN) Psychiatric Technicians at the Crisis Stabilization Unit in Gulfport.  Part Time (PRN) Psychiatric Technicians will be scheduled one to two shifts per pay period, and will be expected to cover shifts due to call outs or scheduled time off.

Duties:

  • Assist clients with required ADL to include shaving, feeding, bathing, dressing, and elimination, if necessary.
  • Supervises and monitors client behavior.
  • Assists in monitoring the physical standards to ensure a safe, healthy living environment.
  • Assists with and supervises meals, snacks, visitation, telephone use, recreational, and social activities.
  • Assists clients in orientation and discharge or transfer from CSU.
  • Deals effectively with physically and verbally combative clients to include verbal de-escalation as well as physical crisis intervention.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proof of High School Diploma or GED required
  • Obtain CPR and Crisis Intervention training within 90 days of hire
  • Ability to pass a background check as required by state law

Community Support Services-Harrison and Stone Counties

Immediate openings are available for Community Support Services Specialists (Case Managers) in Harrison County.  There are two openings in Harrison County located at the Main Office in Gulfport, MS.

Duties for these positions include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and willingness to use own transpiration in order to access clients in their homes
  • Maintain current unrestricted driver’s license and maintain current auto insurance
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed
  • Provide direct services, support, and education to clients including linkage to resources and advocacy within community settings
  • Maintain caseloads in accordance with the Mississippi Department of Mental Health Standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications-Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or another mental health related field
  • Ability to pass a background check as required by state law

Program Assistant-Crossroads Recovery Center-Gulfport

Immediate openings available for 1 Full Time employees and 2 Part Time employees at Crossroads Recovery Center located in Gulfport, MS.  The full time shift available is 7a-3p.  The part time shifts available are primarily for afternoons and evenings primarily Friday-Sunday.  Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Transport and supervise residential drug treatment clients during planned field trips and appointments
  • Complete client progress notes in accordance with program guidelines
  • Provide guidance and support to clients as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Residential Director

Qualifications Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED (proof of education is required)
  • Valid MS Class D Driver’s License and insurable for driving.
  • Prior experience in a residential drug treatment facility desirable.
  • Ability to pass a background check per state law
