Human Resources Coordinator

Human Resources Coordinator: This is administrative work performing various phases of Human Resources with a distinct level of technical proficiency for a community mental health center. An
employee at this level is able to exercise independent judgement regarding procedures, rules, and regulations as they affect programmatic areas such as recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, employee evaluation, and other human resources/human capital services. The incumbent generally provides assistance to administrators, managers, supervisors, and nonmanagement employees on questions/problems regarding general human resources. The employee will receive supervision and answer directly to the Executive Director.

Duties and Responsibilities:
A. To be responsible for the function and operation of the Human Resources office, including:

  • Recruit, select, train, and maintain personnel in conjunction with other staff.
  • Maintain personnel records according to standards and professional credentialing requirements.
  • Coordinate personnel actions, such as orientation, employee evaluations, changes in salary and employee status, termination of employment.
  • Develop personnel forms and systems.
  • Coordinate personnel policy revisions.
  • Enroll employees in and monitor employee benefits.
  • Maintain Workers’ Compensation files and monitor cases.
  • Train employees and oversee employee training program.

B. To assist in other organization, administrative, and management functions, including:

  • Maintain the Center’s Policies and Procedures manual, including timely revisions.
  • Coordinate site/certification visits and compliance with state standards and federal regulations.
  • Participate in Management Team and other standing and ad hoc committees as assigned.
  • To perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director, as needed.

Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s Degree required with five years’ related experience. Two year’s human resources related experience; (Master’s degree or equivalent in related field could be substituted for one year of job-specific experience.) Knowledge of human resources administration. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.

Mental Health Case Coordinator-Harrison County

Gulf Coast Mental Health Center has an opening for a Mental Health Case Coordinator.  This position is a Full Time Monday-Friday 8a-5pm.

Duties:

  • Complete treatment plans with patients annually.
  • Complete new releases of information with clients.
  • Complete the DLA or other functional assessments needed annually.
  • Coordinate with treating providers for coordination of care for those patients who do not require a Community Support Specialist.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in a Mental Health related field.
  • Eligible to obtain professional licensure.
  • Ability to pass a background check as required by state law.

Mental Health Clinician-Children’s Outpatient Services (FACT)-Harrison County

Gulf Coast Mental Health Center has an opening for a Licensed Mental Health Clinician in Children’s Outpatient Services (FACT) in the Harrison County Office.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • To provide individual, family, and/or group counseling consistent with training
  • To provide psychological assessments as needed

  • To provide consultation-education services when necessary

Qualifications:

School Based Clinician-Biloxi School District

Gulf Coast Mental Health Center has an opening available for a School Based Clinician in the Biloxi School District.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Complete assessments, provide individual/family therapy sessions in the school and Center settings, and provide crisis services, consultations, and other collaborations in the school setting
  • Responsible for development and implementation of treatment plans
  • Maintain client records in accordance with state and federal law
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings, school staff meetings, and in-service training
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the School Based Services Coordinator

Qualifications-Required

  • Master’s Degree in behavioral science, social work, psychology, or other mental health related field
  • Professional License, i.e., PCMHT, CMHT, LMSW, LPC, LMFT-A, LMFT, or LCSW
  • Ability to pass a background check per state law

Qualifications-Preferred

  • Experience in diagnosing problematic moods, behaviors, and family disfunctions

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Gulf Coast Mental Health Center has openings for 2 Full Time PMHNP’s.  These positions can be located in any of the three counties that GCMHC serves (Harrison, Hancock, and Stone).

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provide adult, children, and adolescent psychiatric evaluations
  • Provide psychiatric medication evaluations
  • Provide medication prescriptions appropriate for the treatment of psychiatric illnesses
  • Complete medical records in accordance with GCMHC policies
  • Participate in treatment planning with Mental Health Clinicians

Qualifications:

  • Posses a Master’s of Science in Nursing with an emphasis in psychiatric mental health
  • Posses a current, non restricted, Mississippi state Board of Nursing License
  • Ability to pass a background check as required by state law

MCERT Therapist

Gulf Coast Mental Health Center has an opening for a  Full Time MCERT Therapist in Harrison/Stone Counties.

Duties for these positions include but are not limited to:

  • Cover Crisis Walk-ins in County Offices in Stone and Harrison Counties
  • Provide 24 hour, 7-days a week coverage for after hours crisis calls both via telephone and onsite (as requested)
  • Pre-evaluation screening for involuntary commitments
  • Complete Mental Health Assessments
  • Provide direct services, support, and education to clients including linkage to resources and advocacy within community settings
  • Must complete all required trainings as outlined by the Mississippi Department of Mental Health

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in a Mental Health related field
  • Eligibility for professional licensure
  • Dependable transportation with full insurance coverage (must provide proof of insurance coverage)
  • 1-2 years experience working in crisis intervention

Mental Health Clinician-Hancock County

Registered Nurse-Part Time/PRN

There are immediate openings for 4 Part-Time/PRN Registered Nurses at the Crisis Stabilization Unit located in Gulfport, MS.

Duties:

  • Provide nursing assessments for CSU clients.
  • Administer all medications.

Psychiatric Technicians-Crisis Stabilization Unit

Immediate openings are available for 4 Part Time (PRN) Psychiatric Technicians at the Crisis Stabilization Unit in Gulfport.  Part Time (PRN) Psychiatric Technicians will be scheduled one to two shifts per pay period, and will be expected to cover shifts due to call outs or scheduled time off.

Duties:

  • Assist clients with required ADL to include shaving, feeding, bathing, dressing, and elimination, if necessary.
  • Supervises and monitors client behavior.
  • Assists in monitoring the physical standards to ensure a safe, healthy living environment.
  • Assists with and supervises meals, snacks, visitation, telephone use, recreational, and social activities.
  • Assists clients in orientation and discharge or transfer from CSU.
  • Deals effectively with physically and verbally combative clients to include verbal de-escalation as well as physical crisis intervention.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proof of High School Diploma or GED required
  • Obtain CPR and Crisis Intervention training within 90 days of hire
  • Ability to pass a background check as required by state law

Community Support Services-Harrison County

Gulf Coast Mental Health Center has an opening for a Community Support Services Specialist in Harrison County.

Duties for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and willingness to use own transpiration in order to access clients in their homes
  • Maintain current unrestricted driver’s license and maintain current auto insurance
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed
  • Provide direct services, support, and education to clients including linkage to resources and advocacy within community settings
  • Maintain caseloads in accordance with the Mississippi Department of Mental Health Standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Program Assistant-New Hope House-Gulfport

Gulf Coast Mental Health Center has an opening for a Part-time Program Assistant at our Women’s Group Home New Hope House.  The part-time shifts available are primarily for afternoons, evenings, and overnights primarily Friday-Sunday.  Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Transport and supervise residential clients during planned field trips and appointments
  • Complete client progress notes in accordance with program guidelines
  • Provide guidance and support to clients as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Group Home Coordinator

Qualifications Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED (proof of education is required).
  • Valid MS Class D Driver’s License and insurable for driving.
  • Prior experience in a residential facility desirable.
  • Ability to pass a background check per state law.
